A large spectrum of the activities aimed to support the ecological farming in Ungheni region was undertaken by the EU/Tacis CBC Ungheni project, and namely:

• Producing awareness brochures and leaflets explaining the benefits of ecological farming not just to the agricultural community but to the general population;
• Creating an Authorised Ecological Products’ Certification Body to establish a fully-fledged Inspection and Certification System;
• Launching pilot farm reconversion projects.
  

The UBSC’s mission in this area consists of:

• ecological farming promotion focused on the generation of ecological farming awareness
• dissemination of the relevant information and documentation
• provision of BAS for farm businesses
• linkages to certification authorized institutions
